Terms and conditions

Covareli provides self-drive car rental services (NACE code 77.11). The service is provided directly by COVARELI S.R.L., which is the party you enter into the contract with; we do not act as an intermediary.

• Choose the car, the rental period (pickup and return date and time) and the pickup and return locations.
• Enter your contact details (name, email, phone) and, optionally, a message. Any additional driver must be declared when booking.
• Check the booking summary, which shows the total to pay, and accept these terms and the Cancellation policy.
• Pay online by card through NETOPIA Payments.

The distance contract between you and Covareli is concluded when the payment is confirmed. Right after that you receive the booking confirmation by email, with the car, period and locations you chose and the booking ID.

• All prices are in Romanian lei (RON) and include VAT.
• The rate is charged per day and decreases in tiers with the length of the rental. All price tiers are shown on each car's page.
• A location fee may apply for pickup or return at certain locations (our office in Baciu, Cluj city centre, the airport). It is shown separately in the booking summary, before payment.
• The total shown in the summary is the amount you pay; no other costs are added to the online payment.

Payment is made in full, online, by bank card (Visa or Mastercard), through the NETOPIA Payments processor, operated by NETOPIA Financial Services S.A. Card details are entered directly on the secure NETOPIA page and never reach Covareli.

COVARELI S.R.L. issues a tax invoice for the amount paid. Cancellation and refund terms are set out in the Cancellation policy.

A security deposit applies to every rental. Its amount differs from one model to another and is shown on each car's page. The deposit is provided when you pick up the car, under the rental agreement, and is returned in full when the car is handed back in the same condition in which it was picked up.

At pickup, the driver (and any declared additional driver) must present a valid identity document and a valid driving licence. The car is handed over at the date, time and location in the booking confirmation; see the Delivery policy.

A rental agreement is signed when you pick up the car. It governs the use of the car during the rental, the rights and obligations of the parties and the return conditions. These terms cover the online booking and payment; everything related to the use of the car is governed by the rental agreement.

Cancellation is free up to 48 hours before the pickup date and time; after that, or in case of a no-show, the amount paid is not refunded. The 14-day right of withdrawal does not apply to car rental for a specific period. All details, including the procedure and the cancellation form, are in the Cancellation policy.

Covareli is liable for providing the booked service, under the law and the rental agreement. The parties' liability for the car during the rental is set out in the rental agreement.

We are not liable for delays or non-performance caused by force majeure. Nothing in these terms limits the rights you have under consumer protection law.

If we cannot reach a solution, you may contact the Romanian National Authority for Consumer Protection (ANPC, anpc.ro) or use alternative dispute resolution (ADR) through the ANPC platform reclamatiisal.anpc.ro.

These terms and the contracts concluded through the website are governed by Romanian law, without depriving you of the protection afforded by the mandatory provisions of the law of your country of residence. Disputes not resolved amicably or through ADR are settled by the courts having jurisdiction under the law.

We may update these terms; the current version is published on this page with its last-updated date. Your booking is governed by the version in force on the date you made it.
